About MudFire Gallery

Celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2012, MudFire Gallery recognizes the milestone by fleshing out its usual presentation of ceramics with a record twenty-seven exhibits over the course of the year. Major name solo exhibitions, including those by Debra Fritts, Martha Grover, Susan Filley and Noah Riedel, serve as succinct counterpoints to ambitious group shows in which nationally renown artists address the Occupy Movement, the Presidential Elections, Nesting, Gay Pride, Breast Cancer and the ageless battle of Pirate vs. Zombie.

In addition to the physical exhibits housed in MudFire’s loft gallery in Decatur, all of MudFire’s exhibits are fully documented and available for view on the gallery’s newly redesigned website www.mudfire.com. With the expanded gallery section providing a professional online venue for the presentation of ceramics, MudFire Gallery’s resources as one of the nation's premier ceramic art venues are now available to audiences and craft collectors nationwide.

At MudFire we have a uniquely personalized approach. We teach, but not in a large class format. Instead, studio members receive one-on-one instruction. Our staff is always on hand for an in-depth lesson, last minute rescue, or help with a new form or project. It's like a gym where you can come any time and there are "personal trainers" on hand and ready to help you any time with personalized instruction. We offer several membership plans for your convenience.
